Mr. Gregory C. Smith is Executive director / CEO of the Believe Foundation.

Greg grew up in South Central LA.  When he was there thats when he witnessed a lot of gang activity.   Young children growing up in an environment that would lead their lives to a dead end. There was no real future for them. He was blessed to have parents who raised him to be strong in his faith enough to survive those times. And it kept him away from gangs. One of his strengths was his music. He played for his father’s church. He loved playing the drums and still does. And the other strength was his determination to get his education.
As Greg grew up and became successful, he felt in his heart that he wanted to give back.  He found a place in his heart, were he wanted to help children.  He wants them to be able to grow up confident in themselves.  Reach for their dreams.  Succeed in everything they do.  And build a better community for everyone.  He is the kind of person that is always giving.

Greg found a way were the children of South Central LA, could build their self esteem, become educated and to be able to become strong in their beliefs and the talents they were gifted with.  He followed his heart and put that dream into motion.

In 2007, Greg started doing shows, events and workshops for children in the community. The kind of shows and events that brought in teens in large groups of the thousands.  One of his shows was STEP TO THE MIC. He also did these shows and events for churches as well.  Greg funded all these shows by himself and it showed him how much talent was out there and Greg's mission was to provide them some type of outlet and exposure. It showed him a way to direct their energy in a positive way and he also noticed that it keep the kids off the street's and away from danger. July 2010, Greg started to Believe foundation and the mission is to build a performing arts school in Los Angeles. The name of this school is the Los Angeles School of Arts and Entertainment (LASAE) and its mission is to improve student achievement through high quality arts education and to provide a bridge between South Los Angeles youth and employment opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Organized as a public charter school within the Inglewood school district, LASAE will offer high-level instruction in music, dance, drama, and the visual and media arts. Grounded in a college preparatory curriculum, the school will train students for employment in a wide range of entertainment-related professions. Believe Foundation has been very blessed and so many people have come together and volunteer their time, money and services to help make this happen.
